2010.08.02 — Nice Little Tattoo Fushigi

On Saturday, while driving home after the hither and thither that comprises my Saturday chores, for no particular reason, the thought of reading the much talked about Girl with the Dragon Tattoo popped into my head. So, while renewing the CDs borrowed from my local library via their web, I reserved a copy of Dragon Tattoo. (The NWPL has 10 copies on hand, and I'm 27th on the list!)

So, nothing special here, of course, But later that night, while flipping stations during the ads, I found myself looking at a Russian prostitute with a dragon tattoo on her cheek.

Twas in a movie that I do not remembering hearing about before seeing it in my digital cable listing for the night — Hitman, with Dougray Scott, Timothy Oliphant and Olga Kurylenko.

Okay, mildly amusing. So, tonight, I opened iTunes to listen to the next CD I'd just renewed from the library last night.

And it is "Love Tattoo" by Imelda May:

The movie gets from me about 2 stars out of five, and the CD about 3.

And I've decided to buy The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

[Update 2010.08.23:
I bought the book.
